Breaking News: a new player needed!

Unfortunately, we found out today that Jennifer is no longer able to attend the Tour.  We are therefore on the lookout for another player, possibly two.  Hopefully it won't be long before a replacement steps forward.

First Training Session

Last night, the 'Bobcats on Tour' team had their first extra training session in preparation for the game against the Sittard Condors.  Quentin was a excellent coach and there was a lot of very useful exercises and tuition.  Unfortunately most of the team was shattered after an hour (not used to all this exercise on a Tuesday) - so much so that Jonathan ended up spend 15 minutes lying on the groun in the outfield.

Both Jim's and Chris' batting really developed in the session and they can now hit controlled balls into the outfield to a specific target.

Jonathan developed his fielding skills and took one for the team - straight on the knee cap.

Tad and Justin were excellent as usual - but I think even they learnt a few things.

And Kate  - well she had good socks!

Name of the 'Bobcats on Tour' team.

Kate thinks we need a nickname for the Bobcats on Tour team.  Suggestions so far have included BoTs, Bob-boTs, Tour-cats, bobaway etc.

If you can think of anything better please let us know!

Ferry is booked!

The ferries and the accommodation has been booked so we are definitely going - no turning back now for the brave, adventurous bobcats!

Bobcats on Tour

On the 8th July 2011, ten brave Bobcats are off to The Netherlands to play the Sittard Condors.  Leaving on Friday night in two cars our first stop is Bruges, Belgium where we will recover from the journey by visiting the local hostelries.  After painting the town purple we will set off the next day to Sittard, The Netherlands to meet our contenders.  After a couple of friendly games the Condors and Bobcats will join for an evening of festivities in Maastricht and then head home on sunday.

The Bobcats on Tour team are
Reinout, Kate, Chris, Debbie, Tad, Jennifer, Jonathan, Michelle, Jim and Quentin

The aim of the Tour is to develop individual and team skills, to enhance the team spirit, to develop the Birmingham Bobcats as an International Team, and, more importantly, to have fun.  Follow our adventures as they unfold!
